City views, great food, strong coffee, kids' playground, jumping castle, mini golf... no I haven't just made a parents' wish-list of somewhere to go on a Saturday morning (well, ok I did).
These things can all be found at one venue: Victoria Park.
Located in Brisbane's inner-north, Victoria Park is an awesome place to hang with your brood, ensuring everyone has a bit of fun.
Oh yeah- and there's some sort of golf course too here apparently. But let's take a look at all those other reasons to visit instead.

Coming to Victoria Park on a Saturday morning with our small one has become something of a weekly ritual for us. One glance from my red-veined eyes is enough to get a coffee delivered our way. I like this place.
On our last visit, we made the most of sweeping city views at the alfresco restaurant.
From the breakfast menu, the House Baked Beans with Smoked Ham, Poached Egg and Toast came so highly recommended that we couldn't pass up this choice. We also tried out a lighter option; the Middle Eastern Fruit Toast with Vanilla Butter.
The baked beans were on par, with the smoky ham stirred through the mix to impart a lovely rich flavour to the otherwise lowly bean. The poached eggs topping this dish made it truly lush.
There was such a great range of dried fruit and spices in the Middle Eastern fruit toast, it was well worth ordering despite the loaf of cafe-style fruit toast in my freezer at home. Generous chunks of dried apricots and dates were scattered throughout each slice, which was taken to the next level with the sizable slices of creamy vanilla butter.

If you're after a quick, fun bite instead, Victoria Park's food and coffee carts fit the bill. We physically couldn't walk past the Dutch Pancakes with Strawberries, Maple Syrup and Ice Cream without placing an order. Ok, we couldn't go past the Custard Doughnut either...
If pancakes are your thing, these little Dutch Pancakes are a winning choice. We were optimistic and got a plate of 20 to share- HA! Do yourself a favour and get your own plate. Sharing these delectable little bites took more willpower that either of us had.
The custard doughnut was fresh and tasty and was washed down by a beautifully made fresh coffee nicely.

We nommed away on these tasty morsels while overlooking a fun outdoor games area, with giant board games for the adults, and a jumping castle for the kids.
There's also a wooden playground for the kidlets to run wild in. The playground is in the full-sun so bringing sunscreen is a must.

Victoria Park has scored a hole in one for a lovely morning out with the whole family- coffee and tee lovers alike.
Don't putter around; where ever you are in Brisbane, it's worth the drive.
