Maleny is a scenic town just north of Brisbane, and is far more picturesque than Lady Gaga's tonsills at the Super Bowl.
This town is the source of Maleny Black Angus Beef, selling some pretty impressive Black Angus meat that has raised on Maleny’s prized Kikuyu and clover pastures.
Is this grass fed beef as good as it claims to be? Let’s find out. The steaks are high…

Sue and Mark Menkens have been loved the taste of their Black Angus beef since they moved to the area five years ago, but have only recently decided to share the tasty, tasty love with others. The beef is available for online purchase direct from the farm, with a Taster Pack, Half Beast or Full Beast options available for anyone with a shed-sized chest freezer.
We tried out one of these steaks to see what all the fuss was about. Instead of doing the usual and throwing it on the BBQ, we opted for a simple weeknight dinner that is only ever good when good meat is used. We made beef stroganoff.
There were two steaks in the vacuum-sealed pack which sliced easily and displayed some beautiful marbling.

While it’s not hard to find grass fed beef, it’s not always clear if they’re purely grass fed, or have had had some grain towards the end to fatten them up quickly. This provides Maleny Black Angus Beef with a pretty strong selling point- their cattle are 100% grass fed.
