I’m on a bit of a local café kick at the moment because there are so many gems dotted around Brisbane-town.
While we were out Nundah-way, we popped into Jam 4012, not to be confused with a Jam of any other postcode.
How did our Northside eating go? Let’s find out.

The funky, casual setting of Jam 4012 makes it a great go-to in the area. I've been here on a number of occasions, and keep coming back for great quality food and generous servings of it.
We were here on a slightly chilly day, so were in need of some stodgy options. For lunch we opted for:
The corn beef used was excellent- it melted in your mouth and wasn’t fatty at all. I loved the wonderfully fresh sauerkraut, which still had slightly crisp cabbage. This stuff did not come out of a tin.
The addition of the Swiss cheese and Russian dressing made this multicultural Reuben one of the best examples of this sandwich that I’ve had.
The risotto was rich and warming, with a really good quality goats cheese throughout the dish. There was so much chorizo going on too that you didn’t have to worry about rationing your mouthfuls of meat.
My Reuben sandwich was a sight to behold- each slab of bread was an inch thick, requiring the use of cutlery for me to attack this food tower on my plate.
- The Reuben: Toasted Rye Bread filled with Corn Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese, Russian Dressing with Beer Battered Chips
- Risotto Special: Herb Risotto with Crumbed Goats Cheese, Chorizo, Baby Spinach, Cherry Tomatoes with Lemon

Jam 4012 is a highly baby-friendly café, with a number of little ones getting out of the house on the day we were there. This was a nice mix with the regular business lunchers who were also in abundance.
If you’re ever feeling hungry on the Northside, this little eating establishment has big serves that are sure to satisfy.
