In a rare Tour De France-inspired moment on Sunday morning, my friend and I hopped on our bikes and peddled around Southbank, West End and Dutton Park. It's basically the same as Fougères, Mûr-de-Bretagne and Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.
Given that it has been 10 years since I last did any such peddling, we grew pretty hungry pretty quickly.
We stopped off at West End's Atomica cafe, which again I hadn't been to for years but I remember eating some good noms there in the past.
How has it stood the test of time? Let's find out.

To fuel our next cycling leg we went for:
The Atomica Breakfast was super tasty, with the crispy bubble and squeak adding a nice touch. The sausage wasn’t overly fatty and the mushroom and tomato were nice and fresh.
I absolutely loved the creamy Meredith Dairy goat cheese in the omelet, which also had whole cherry tomatoes in it. The sourdough was great, but I could have gone a bit more butter. I use that stuff like it's icing.

For drinks I ordered an LSD. No it's not that kind of cafe... this was a Latte of Soy and Dandelion, which is a slightly bitter health-nut coffee alternative. You don't see it as an option at many cafes, but West End serves it up quite regularly so I was glad to take the opportunity here. It was lovely and nutty and not overpowering at all.
I also have it on good authority from my breaky partner that the coffee was nice and strong without being bitter.

Overall, the all-day breakfasts served up at Atomica will satisfy when hungry. The great ingredients used means you'll end up something fresh and tasty on your plate.
