What local Drinks-Blog is complete without mention of this well-known quality Aussie bevy? None I say! And so here it is: Little Creatures Pale Ale is a beer staple in our house for good reason, it's delicious.

First released in Summer 2001, Little Creatures started off in Freemantle, W.A. but has been such a popular drop, they now also brew in Geelong, Victoria.

The first thing you notice about this Pale Ale is that it's fresh. Scents of citrus fruit and caramel malt waft up your nose, preparing you for a Summer-friendly beer. On the palate is beautifully balanced floral hop bitterness and sweet malt. The yeasty notes compliment a hint of passionfruit and more citrus on the taste buds, particularly lemon.

The beer pours a dark amber colour that is slightly cloudy.
It is highly carbonated which I personally love as it carries the citrus tastes well, but I do know this can be a bit much for some people. This Pale Ale is live-yeast conditioned which develops natural carbonation in the bottle, rather than using compressed carbon dioxide.

Preservative and additive free, this beer is dangerously drinkable and is a standard "go-to" beer for quite a lot of people I know and will be a popular choice this Australia Day. Well this and maybe a Diet Coke with Bacon...
