You may remember a recent post about a relatively new bevvy to hit Australia's shores. Well Bionade seems to have taken off so well down-under, a brand new flavour has been released which I find just a bit exciting because it takes a not-so-healthy drink and has brewed it up with more natural ingredients, making it a whole lot more guilt-free.
Organic Cola is the latest Bionade offering, and I'll be honest, it tastes nothing like its big-brand brothers. But while Coke and Pepsi normally leaves me wanting for a giant glass of water afterwards, Bionade doesn't thanks to not being packed with teaspoon-fulls of sugar.

What you do get when you swig a mouthful of this beverage is a lovely blend of tartness and fruitiness, with an underlying hit of that cola-taste we traditionally expect. It's a totally different drink, but that makes it utterly refreshing (ha ha) in the cola market.
I used Bionade Cola as a mixer with Kaluha, which went down so well, we reached the bottom of the Kaluha bottle before we felt we even really got started on it. Kaluha and Coke can get a bit sweet after awhile, so using the much more balanced Bionade as a mixer proved to be a winner- hence the sad story of us running out of Kaluha.
Like its Bionade cousins, this cola-flavoured drink is brewed in a similar style to beer but is non-alcoholic, gluten-free, vegan-friendly and a good option to serve up at a party to get conversation started on what on earth is in this retro bottle.
The ingredients in Bionade cola are 100% organic which is something else that leaves a nice taste in your mouth.
Bionade can be found in cafes around Sydney-town, but can also be bought online.
