Ben’s Burgers brings a bit of Americana to Brisbane with retro furnishings, Hershey’s milkshakes and of course, burgers.
So does it cut the mustard? Let’s take a look.
The menu at Ben’s Burgers is, in a word, limited. There are only three burger options, so there is an expectation that they are all done well.
Below we had:
- BB Classic: Beef, Cheese, Pickles, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo
- BB Special: Beef, Cheese, Pickles, Onion, Jalapenos, Special Sauce
- Chilli Cheese Fries
Each of these burgers were very, very tasty and moreish. They represented exactly why people love all-American burgers.
The beef patties were seasoned well, and I couldn’t get enough of the special sauce on the special burger. I loved the super-soft buns as well which were nice and fresh.
The chilli fries were definitely on the hot-side of the chilli scoville scale, but were again supremely tasty with a generous amount of melted cheese on top.
- Brownie with vanilla ice-cream
When the brownie came out, I confess I was a bit disappointed at how small it was. However after one mouthful, I realised it was actually a pretty good serving of something so rich and decadent. If you order this, definitely get the extra ice cream on the side to lighten up your mouthfuls a bit.
The counter also stocks a bowl of Hershey’s Kisses which is a nice touch for a sweet-tooth like me.
