Given that it has been 10 years since I last did any such peddling, we grew pretty hungry pretty quickly.
We stopped off at West End's Atomica cafe, which again I hadn't been to for years but I remember eating some good noms there in the past.
How has it stood the test of time? Let's find out.
- Atomica Breakfast: Bacon, Eggs, Lamb and Rosemary Sausage, Swiss Brown Mushrooms, Roasted Tomato, Bubble and Squeak, Tomato Jam, Toasted Sourdough
- Omelet (2 Eggs): With Roasted Cherry Tomatoes, Meredith Dairy Goat’s Cheese and Toasted Sourdough
The Atomica Breakfast was super tasty, with the crispy bubble and squeak adding a nice touch. The sausage wasn’t overly fatty and the mushroom and tomato were nice and fresh.
I absolutely loved the creamy Meredith Dairy goat cheese in the omelet, which also had whole cherry tomatoes in it. The sourdough was great, but I could have gone a bit more butter. I use that stuff like it's icing.
I also have it on good authority from my breaky partner that the coffee was nice and strong without being bitter.
